Auto-Trail choose charity for 2016, as fundraising efforts hit all-time high

Auto-Trail looks set to continue its fundraising efforts for 2016, with the total amount of money raised for its chosen charities reaching a whopping £35,570 since the company’s fundraising initiative began.

The news comes shorly after Auto-Trail provided chosen charity for 2015, Freddie’s Friends, with a cheque for £2,100 in a bid to help families with disabled children.

Now, for 2016, it has been announced that the company will focus its fundraising efforts on raising money for Grimsby Food Kitchen (GFK).

Starting out life as a soup kitchen, and run by Cath and Ken Homewood, GFK serves in excess of 85 people each week and the charity is entirely funded by donations from local businesses and staffed by a dedicated team of volunteers.

Having started its fundraising scheme in 2007, Auto-Trail has since gone on to raise a vast amount of money for charities that need it most. A full breakdown is as follows:

2007: When You Wish Upon a Star (Grimsby), (£3,750 raised)
2008: St Andrew’s Childrens’ Hospice (£5,000 raised)
2009: Cancer Research UK (£4,500 raised)
2010: Huntington’s Disease (£2,500 raised)
2011: Help for Heroes (£5,200 raised)
2012: Women’s Aid (Grimsby) (£2,770 raised)
2013: Humberston Park Special School (£4,250 raised)
2014: The MS Society (£5,500 raised)
2015: Freddie’s Friends (£2,100 raised)

Congratulations Auto-Trail – what a great fundraising effort.
