Elddis is a well-respected manufacturer of caravans, based in County Durham and distributing leisure vehicles to 85 retailers around the UK. It is part of the larger Erwin Hymer Group, which has a presence across Europe and is ultimately owned by Thor Industries, a massive RV company in the US.
It has built its reputation on reliability and innovation, gaining fans throughout the caravanning world. Whether you’re looking to escape to the open road just the two of you or take the whole family with you, there’s an Elddis caravan to suit your leisure needs.
History of Elddis
The first Elddis caravan was not for sale, as it was the pride and joy of Siddle and Mary Cook, the brand’s founders. They loved nothing better than camping in their spare time with son Raymond back in the 1950s, but never found a caravan that quite suited their individual needs.
With this in mind, they set about designing and building their own caravan, complete with fridge and spare wheel, which was considered the height of luxury in the mid 20th century. By 1964, they decided to share their caravan dreams with others and the Elddis brand was born. Over the years, its caravans have continued to feature the latest mod cons and accessories, though these now go beyond a fridge and an extra wheel!
If you’re looking for a touring vehicle you can rely on, then an Elddis model is undoubtedly a good option. All Elddis caravans are built using the company’s own SoLiD construction practices, offering confidence that it will withstand the elements and whatever your family can throw at it.
Elddis designs its ranges with different needs in mind, so couples can opt for a comfortable two-berth caravan or a four-berth alternative if they like to host guests. Larger broods will find all the family accommodated with ease in an innovative six-berth caravan that still manages to feel spacious.
