Caravan and motorhome holidays have a sense of community and nowhere is this stronger than with the members of The Caravan and Motorhome Club. Over the 110+ years of operation, the Club has become one of the largest, and most diverse, campsite networks in the UK.
Each site comes with its own unique story and they are set in a range of locations. On top of the ‘traditional’ sites, the Club has a multi-award winning Certified Location (CL) network. CLs offer low capacity sites set in locations that are known for having tranquil surroundings and minimal facilities, so you can make the most of your leisure vehicle in nature.
One aspect that makes the Club such a popular option is how many partnerships they’ve forged with companies all over the world. These partnerships allow discounts on everything from ferry crossings to local attractions. Within a short amount of time, your membership can pay for itself through exclusive offers provided to members.
The Caravan and Motorhome Club’s History
The Caravan and Motorhome Club, formerly known as just ‘The Caravan Club’, dates back around 114 years. Founded in 1907 by the founding father of caravanning, Dr William Stables, the brand has grown to become one of Europe’s largest touring communities.
The company has become a trusted voice within the industry and hosts several major awards shows per year – the Motorhome Design, Caravan Design and Tow Car of the Year awards.
The Caravan and Motorhome Club today
As a leader in the leisure industry, the Club now has approximately one million members. Each year, more sites are added and members see an increasing amount of new offers. There are currently more than 200 Club sites and over 2,200 CLs available to members.
In an effort to reach a wider audience, the Club has added a sister brand, Experience Freedom. This allows non-members who may not own a leisure vehicle to come and experience the lifestyle. Non-members can visit Club sites and rent caravans, motorhomes or stay in glamping accommodation. This allows newcomers to get first-hand experience of what being a member is all about.
