Auto-Trail and Coachman raise funds for charity this Christmas

Auto-Trail and Coachman have really gotten into the spirit of giving this Christmas

Auto-Trail and Coachman choose charity over Christmas cards

While Christmas cards are always a nice surprise at this time of the year, there’s nothing better than really celebrating Christmas by getting into the spirit of giving. And, since 2007, motorhome company Auto-Trail has been doing just that; choosing to donate money to nominated charities instead of sending out traditional paper Christmas cards. Their nominated charity for this year is the Multiple Sclerosis Society, which is the UK’s leading organisation dealing with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

MS is a complex neurological condition that affects 100,000 people in the UK. Although it is usually diagnosed in people between the ages of 20 and 40, it has a range of symptoms, which may not even be visible in some cases. People affected by MS may experience clinical depression, fatigue, problems with balance and vision, and cognitive issues such as difficulty with concentration and memory. There is still no cause or cure for the condition, which is why funds go a long way. Research can help slow down the progression of MS or manage the symptoms, and with Auto-Trail’s £5,000 to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, things are starting to look up.

Auto-Trail’s previous efforts to raise funds for various charitable causes have included the 10 in 10 Challenge (covering ten Lake District Peaks in ten hours), a golf tournament, the national three-peaks and Yorkshire three-peaks challenges, even covering fun bake days, factory tours and open days for customers and staff.

Auto-Trailers aren’t the only ones to continue in the spirit of giving this year, with Coachman Caravans also making a generous donation to Dove House Hospice as done in previous years.

Dove House, which was founded in 1979, provides care for patients and families, friends and carers when it’s needed the most, providing services to adults who have been diagnosed with non-curable life limiting illnesses.

We here at CaravanTimes commend Auto-Trail and Coachman’s efforts to help charitable organisations this Christmas and are sure it will make a significant change for the better.
