Marchi Mobile creates the world’s most expensive caravan

The caravan is the ultimate in lavish modern design

by Emmy Griffiths

Marchi Mobile, the company famous for its astoundingly voluptuous motorhome the Elemment Palazzo, has announced a caravan version of the model, called the MMPro.

The motorhome, made by the Austrian-based company, is priced at an astounding £1.9 million with an array of luxurious features including a working fireplace, under-floor heating and a 40-inch satellite TV. It even glows in the dark so other nighttime drivers will be sure to see you coming.

And although a price has not been released for the MMPro, it will surely exceed the current record of £550,000 for a static caravan in Wales.

Although presented as the ultimate in modernity and wealth, several of our readers at CaravanTimes expressed divided opinions on the Elemment Palazzo, ranging from “I love it”, to “I think I want to vomit”. Either way this gargantuan motorhome is so imposing it demands discussion.

So what does the introduction of the MMPro mean for the caravanning community? As you can see from the photo slideshow at the bottom of this page, the caravan looks more like an articulated lorry, and yet the interior looks like something out of Captain Scarlet, but will other caravan makers adopt this daring style?

One commenter on the motorhome article summed it up for us perfectly, by stating: “The trickle down factor should mean that caravan designers continue to look at new and interesting designs. Surely someone can come up with affordable interesting and useful designs for caravans and motorhomes.”

Indeed, the Swift Group has recently unveiled their Colour Concept Caravan at the NEC Caravan and Camping Show, which challenged caravan norms with painted wooden fixtures and a tabard curtains to create a standard of caravan in vogue with modern styled homes.

Have a look at the video below to see a tour of the motorhome and what could be in store for the caravan.
