VIDEO: The challenges of caravanning in winter

Kat Woodhead of Simple Caravan Insurance offers caravanners tips on winter caravanning

by Chris Jefferies

Caravanning has always been associated with summer, but there is no reason you cannot take your caravan out in the winter – as long as you prepare properly.

In this video we talk to Kat Woodhead of Simple Caravan Insurance who talks about the challenges of caravanning in winter and the ways you can plan for the extra problems this can bring.

We discuss things such as how to prepare for your holiday and maintaining your caravan through icy conditions.

An important consideration is how best to keep warm and Kat offers a brief discussion of which gas is better – Butane or Propane.

She also explains why taking an awning can be a good way to insulate your tourer.

All of this ensures that anyone eager to take their caravan away for the winter months can now do so. As long as you are prepared for the worst, taking your caravan away in the colder months can be just as fun as in summer.

Thanks to Old Hall Touring Park and Kenmore Caravans for their help with this video.
