Gloucestershire man freed by fire service after trapping hand under caravan

Some caravan repair jobs are best left to professionals

Firefighters in Gloucestershire had to free a man after he got his hand stuck underneath a caravan.

The Gloucestershire Echo reported that the man got into difficulties in Stratton, near Cirencester, on Friday (10 January) at 2pm and it took five crew members from the nearby fire station to release him.

A fire service spokesman told the news provider: “The gentleman was swiftly extricated from his predicament and conveyed to hospital by our colleagues from South Western Ambulance Service.”

It is not yet known how the man managed to get himself stuck under the caravan but it is does serve as a warning to others.

The incident highlights that it can be a potentially dangerous situation if people venture underneath their mobile or static home to attempt DIY repairs.

The spokesman added that the fire crew were able to reach the scene within six minutes of taking the call and managed to free the man without him incurring any further injuries.
