Caravans took over prime time TV last night (12 June), as the caravan special of The Apprentice was followed by a guest appearance from Phil Daniels of ‘<' . strtolower('Array') href="/eterniti/">Eterniti Caravans on The Apprentice: You’re Fired.
The slide-out caravan pioneer joined Dara O’Briain, Claude Littner and Jennie Eclair to deliver his verdict on the candidates’ efforts to sell fold-out trailer tents and Dub Box retro campers at the NCC Motorhome and Caravans Show.
Phil explained that it takes a personal touch to sell a caravan: “You need to listen to them telling you about the times they’ve been on holiday caravanning, really get involved with the customer and make it a personal sale.”
Eterniti Caravans burst onto the caravan scene in 2012 with the Chronicle and Genesis slide-out ranges, and Phil hopes that this exposure will get more people interested in caravanning.
This morning, he told CaravanTimes: “It’s good for the industry; it might attract more people who had never thought about it before.”
His appearance is the second high-profile TV appearance for Eterniti in recent months, after the Genesis IB-4 was featured as the star prize on Ant n Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway back in March.
And while most caravan cameos on TV focus on the staid, stereotypical image of pensioners on holiday, it was nice to see Lord Sugar and co highlight innovative products like the Dub Box and the Eterniti range.
