Bailey Unicorn Scores Hat-trick Award

Bailey Unicorn sweep award show with three wins

By William Coleman

Bailey is at it again! Their beautifully designed Unicorn range has swooped in and won three awards at the 2018 Practical Caravan Magazine’s Tourer of the Year Awards.

At this years awards the Unicorn Cabrera bagged the Best tourer for Couples’ title, the same category where the Unicorn Seville was highly recommended. The Best tourer for Families went to the Unicorn Segovia whilst the overall Unicron design quality was awarded with the Best Innovation award for its USB “sockets with pockets”. The were also commendations for the Pursuit 570-6 (Best Tourer for small families) and the Pursuit 400-2 (Best Budget Tourer). This all adds more power to the already impressive Bailey caravan portfolio.

There was continued praise for the Unicorn Cabrera by Niall Hampton, Practical Caravan Magazine editor: “A revamp both inside and out has improved the look and functionality of the Cabrera, while inside a larger lounge, a central washroom and innovation in the shape of a hinged bed end give more space and added privacy. This is a van that delivers on all fronts – build, comfort and styling.”

He went on to express more positivity for the Unicorn Segovia: “It can be difficult to innovate in tried-and-tested layouts, but with the Segovia Bailey has done just that. By adding a fashionable centre-washroom, it has created something you can’t find anywhere else: a caravan that offers true privacy for both parents and children. It might have taken Bailey a while to consider families with its flagship range, but its first six-berth Unicorn is a triumph.”

There is no real surprise that the Unicorn is the UK’s most popular premium caravan range and these 3 awards just add to the prestige of the range. The effort that have gone into designing this 4th generation is evident in the reviews of all the new models. After 18 months of effort they completed the designs after input from the customer, the retailer and focus groups. On top of that there were rigorous life track and cold chamber testing to ensure the highest level of quality before the designs were completed for release.

With such dedication going into these caravans there really is no stone uncovered during their design process and it’s this kind of dedication that gets awards one and units sold.

Commenting on the receipt of these coveted awards Bailey of Bristol Managing Director Nick Howard said:

“Naturally we are delighted that our new Unicorn range has received this award recognition from such a respected source, and it is testimony to the amount of work that has gone into the development of the fourth-generation models”

“We would like to congratulate everybody involved, including our focus group members, for their contribution to this success” he added

All ten models of the new Unicorn range, including the award-winning Cabrera and Segovia, will be on display for the first time on stand 19-29 at the forthcoming Motorhome & Caravan Show 2017 from Tuesday 17th – Sunday 22nd October.
