Set on the site of a former mill, Burrs Country Park has a lot for families and is just half an hour away from Manchester on Tramlink. As well as exploring the city, it is great for relaxing at and local countryside and river walks along the Irwell are easily accessible from the site. Burrs Activity Centre within the Country Park has lots on offer, including kayaking and raft building, while the East Lancashire Railways close by give you the chance to explore the region from a new perspective.
Facilities at Burrs include a toilet block and family washroom, while Wi-Fi internet is also provided for guests. Waste disposal is available at the site too, which has a mixture of 85 hardstanding and grass pitches for both members and non-members. Pets are welcome.
Prices begin at £5.65 for adults and £1.55 for children in low season with pitch fees of £6. These rise to £7.10 for adults, £2.55 for children and £8.90 for the pitch at peak times. The site also offers a midweek discount with 50 per cent off pitch fees at certain times.
