The quiet Altnaharra (formerly Grummore) site is a perfect place to escape from it all, and with just 24 pitches overlooking the shores of Loch Naver and a 20-mile trip to the nearest shop it doesn’t get much more remote. The site has wonderful views of Ben Kilbreck and is perfect for walkers and anglers, while the Choraidh Croft Farm Park around three miles away is a wonderful place to see more than 40 kinds of animal as well as being the most northern farm park in mainland Scotland.
What the park offers in terms of seclusion it misses when it comes to facilities, with no toilet block or other amenities provided. The majority of pitches are grass, with one hardstanding and one economy pitch available too, while pets are welcome.
With this in mind, Altnaharra is very good value and pitch fees begin at £4.40 and increase to £5.65 in peak season. Children are charged a flat rate of £1.10, while adults cost between £3.40 and £4.30.
