Security may remain a concern for caravan owners across the UK, but one retailer will sleep easy tonight after a vehicle that was stolen from the site was recovered, thanks to its onboard tracking device.
Andy Carrington experienced the nightmare we all fear earlier after a Sterling Eccles Sport 636 was taken from the forecourt of the branch of Torksey Caravans in Lincolnshire.
Desperate to nab the thieving caravanners, a colleague promptly jumped in a car and gave chase to the criminals which was only curtailed when the thieves in question drove through red lights.
Fortunately for the employees, with all Swift Group caravans now fitted with a Thatcham approved Tracker Retrieve, the police were soon in hot pursuit.
They eventually found the caravan in a disused shed, though the criminals at the centre of the caravan crime had made their escape.
