Plymouth Sound Caravan Club to take part in midnight walk for charity

The 'magnificent seven' will take part in a midnight walk for charity

A group of seasoned caravanners from Plymouth are taking part in a midnight walk to help raise money for charity on 27 July.

Joan Gillibrand has brought together a team of seven members of the Plymouth Sound Caravan Club to generate funds for St Luke’s hospice in the West Country city.

The charity helps people with terminally ill conditions such as cancer and for site warden Joan it is highly apt after her brother-in-law was diagnosed with the condition.

Alongside fellow caravanners Tess, Sue and Mo, and Plymouth locals Ange, Sue and Mollie they will be walking the seven-mile trail.

Joan said: “We have been dubbed ‘The Magnificent Seven’ because there are seven of us, we range in ages from 17 to 71 and we hope to complete the seven-mile walk around Plymouth.”

People wanting to sponsor Joan and the rest of her ladies can do so by visiting the Plymouth Sound Caravan Club’s fundraising page on St Luke’s website.

At the time of writing, the Magnificent Seven are a quarter of the way to their £300 target.
