A North Wales caravan park is set for redevelopment despite objections from local residents.

Bourne Leisure Ltd was given the go-ahead by planners to undertake a £1 million revamp of the Greenacres Caravan Site which will see the relocation of 45 touring caravan pitches, Cambrian News reports.

While it may be seen as another way to encourage tourists to visit the area, over 50 local residents have registered their objections as it would extend the site closer to nearby housing and set an “unacceptable precedent”.

Bourne Leisure’s plans include the creation of toilet block complete with showers and toilets, a laundry room, an office, storeroom and space for dishwashing. It is also planning to improve existing access to the field in which the site stands.

Greenacres Holiday Park sits right on the North Wales coast and is only a short drive away from Porthmadog making it a popular destination for families and couples alike.
