The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Director General has been honoured with a very special accolade this week.
Robert Louden was named in the Queen’s Birthday Honours and will receive an MBE for services to the Outdoor Recreation Industry.
The news left Mr Louden “absolutely stunned” and added that he was “very privileged to be in the company of so many talented people who I know have also received honours”.
Mr Louden has been with the Club for 18 years after first joining as Director of Administration and has since rose through the ranks to become Director General in 2007 following a brief period as Deputy Director General.
It is testament to his hard work that the Club is in this position and continually growing beyond the current figure of 600,000 members.
This accolade comes shortly after another successful National Camping and Caravanning Week, which took place in Hertford this year.
