Bailey Pegasus GT65 development programme ‘on track’

Bailey is aiming to complete a simulated six-year structural durability test

Bailey of Bristol has announced that it is “on track” with a continuous product development programme situated at the Millbrook Proving Ground.

The company is aiming to complete a simulated six-year structural durability test and thermal insulation classification test on a new Bailey Pegasus GT65 Rimini caravan as part of its vehicle validation process.

Officials explained that Bailey of Bristol has already implemented similar assessments on caravans and motorhomes in the past but the new Pegasus GT65 range comes with a GRP outer skin which needs to be thoroughly put through its paces.

The caravan was put through a series of seven different test areas of the Millbrook track including a speed circuit, driveway ramps, twist humps and the hill route, among others.

It was then subjected to temperatures as low as -15 degrees centigrade to test the durability and thermal insulation qualities of the structure of the caravan.

Bailey recently introduced the latest addition to the Pegasus GT65 range with the launch of the six-berth Turin model.
