It will be 2021 in a couple of weeks and the Camping and Caravanning Club is making some top-level changes ahead of what is shaping up to be a standout year for all things outdoor living.
The leadership team at the Camping and Caravanning Club will be gaining a heavy hitter who will be the director of several key departments within the business. Emma Catterall has now been appointed as director of finance, HR and business systems.
Emma joined the Club in late November and is no stranger to the wonderful world of touring holidays. She brings with her over 25 years of experience working within the leisure industry, retail and hospitality organisations.
Most recently Emma worked for Merlin Entertainments where she held the role of divisional director at Alton Towers. Before that Emma was operating group finance director across six Merlin resorts including Alton Towers, Chessington World of Adventures, Thorpe Park, and Warwick Castle. Who doesn’t love a good theme park?!
This latest staff acquisition completes the new senior leadership line-up following Sabina Voysey’s appointment as director-general last year.
Sabina said: “We are delighted to welcome Emma to the Club and she is joining us at a very exciting time. The challenges for the Club and our many members have been extraordinary this year on so many levels.
“However, thanks to the dedication and hard work of our staff and volunteers we are facing 2021 with a huge amount of optimism and our plans include opening two new campsites.”
“Emma will play a vital role in the Club’s recovery through 2021 and beyond, and we look forward to Emma sharing her extensive knowledge and experience with us as we move the organisation forward together.”
It’s clear that the Club is very much looking forward to 2021 and intends on opening its entire campsite network, with government restrictions in place. With the new year on the horizon, the Club is very optimistic about how many holidays it can provide to new and existing members.
Emma said: “I’m very excited to be joining such a long-standing membership organisation, which represents all that’s special about enjoying the great outdoors. I really appreciate the benefits of being outside, something that has become clearer than ever during the challenging year we’ve all had. I hope I can play my part in a strong leadership team to take the Club forwards in 2021.”
