Sterling Caravans

Sterling caravans: lightweight and affordable

The Sterling range of caravans sits under the Swift Group umbrella – arguably the largest manufacturers of leisure homes in the business. Swift Caravans design and manufacture caravans, motorhomes and static holiday homes, living up to their reputation of producing lightweight, affordable vehicles with the Sterling range.

Dramatic Redesigns

All Sterling models are uniquely styled with Scandinavian inspired interiors and light ‘Oregon pine’ furniture. A dramatic redesign in 2010 saw the introduction of new bold exterior graphics and badging. Light woodwork interiors are influenced by Scandinavian design while the outershell is built from one piece, high gloss, thick gauge aluminium walls. Sterling Eccles and Elite models underwent a dramatic redesign for the 2011 season to include a panoramic sunroof and GRP front and rear panels.

The Sterling Trio

The three Sterling ranges consist of the entry level Sterling Eccles Sport, mid range Eccles and top end Elite series.

The Eccles Sport range was introduced in July 2011 as a direct replacement for the Sterling Europa. The Sterling Eccles marque is designed with family in mind. A 90th anniversary ‘Ruby’ layout was brought out in 2009 with the popular fixed bed/spacious transverse rear end washroom configuration.

In July 2012, Sterling updated the Eccles, giving it Alde central heating and reducing the overall weights. Called the Sterling Eccles SE to denote the higher equipment level, this range features six single-axle layouts and one twin-axle option.

While the Sterling Elite class maintains the same level of quality seen throughout all Sterling caravans but offers the next level in luxury. It comes in a choice of five models which are all kitted out with large walk-in showers and separate drying areas. Models can be dintinguished from other Sterling ranges from their striking metallic silver sidewalls.

Prices in the Sterling marque range from £15,495 for the entry level single axle, two-berth Sterling Eccles Sport 442 up to £23,749 for the four-berth twin axle Sterling Elite Explorer.

UPDATE: In February 2014, the Swift Group added a new flagship range to the Sterling collection. Named the Sterling Continental, it features Smart HT technology for a more aerodynamic look, better strength and water ingress protection.
