Set within the 165-acre country park, the Poolsbrook Club Site in Derbyshire was formerly an active colliery but has been transformed into a wonderful country park with caravan site complete with adventure playground, cafe and great fishing lake. As well as the country park, two nearby breweries offer tours and a great day out, while children will love the Barrow Hill Roundhouse Railway Centre’s 19th century locomotives.
Facilities on the site are well suited to families, with a parent and child wash room as well as a toilet block and laundry provisions. The site offers guests Wi-Fi internet access and also has waste disposal facilities. A total of 86 pitches are available, with a mixture of hardstanding, grass and serviced. Pets are welcome as well.
The site is open to members and non-members alike and there are half-price discounted rates on some midweek dates. Per night pitch fees begin at £6.40 and rise to £8.80 at peak times, while rates for adults are between £5.60 and £7.10 per night. Children cost between £1.55 and £1.85, though during a special deal between July and September kids only cost 1p.
