Niesmann+Bischoff

With over 30 years experience in building motorhomes, Niesmann + Bischoff GmbH is now the go-to manufacturer for luxury and comfort.

Today, its headquarters sit alongside the production plant in Polchin Rhineland-Palatinate, where 170 people are employed by the company and each year they produce up to 400 luxury liners – as the company calls them – in the Arto and Flair series.

The company’s slogan “For the best time of life”, Niesmann + Bischoff says, emphasizes the claim that they produce quality, innovative and comfortable premium models worldwide.

In 2012, the firm announced an annual turnover of EUR40 million (£33 million). In 1996, Niesmann + Bischoff was bought by German caravan and motorhome giant Hymer. Its signature Polch Lily became the trademark of the Clou, Flair and Arto ranges in 2008.

Clou

The company released its first model, the Clou 570 E, in 1981 closely followed by the much-noticed ClouLiner prototype at the IAA motorshow in 1983.

In 1990, it released the Clou’s smaller brother L-500, and in 1993, the company moved to its current headquarters in Polch and began producing the ClouLiner 900 U as its “top-of-the-line” model.

The ClouLiner 990SG won the redDot design award and the Caravan Design Award in 2006.

Flair

The second series launched by Niesmann + Bischoff was De Flair, an alcove-model caravan which the company dubbed as “the second coming” when it arrived in 1994.

In 1999, the second generation Flair was introduced at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf. In 2002, the new Flair 6700i used a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, but these days it is built on an Iveco Daily chassis.

In 2009, the Flair 4.0 was nominated by the German minister for technology and economy for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Arto

Niesmann + Bischoff’s third line, the Arto, hit the road in 1998 with the second generation being introduced in 2001 at the Caravan Salon show in Düsseldorf.

In 2012, the company decided to focus on interior innovation. The Arto and Flair now have more than 500 different style options between them – the most of any manufacturer.

Importing

Niesmann + Bischoff motorhomes have been imported into the UK for more than 20 years, and these days Shropshire dealership Travelworld has exclusive rights to sell this luxury brand in Britain.
