Despite being relatively short for a six-berth tourer, the Bailey Orion 530-6 still fits a lot inside through its clever layout and weighs little enough to mean most family cars can tour without a problem. A fixed nearside double is found at the rear, with two bunks on the offside and a second convertible double pulling out from the fully-sprung front living space. A rear corner washroom fits a shower and Thetford C-260 cassette toilet with a washbasin installed on the offside wall. The central nearside kitchen area may be compact but offers everything a family could need. An oven and grill, 107-litre fridge, stainless steel sink and three-burner gas hob are all made by the reputable Thetford, while an 800W microwave oven also comes as standard.
Double-glazed windows and a Midi Heki rooflight make the Orion 530-6 a bright and open caravan, lighting up the classy Italian ‘walnut’ furniture and ‘Unity’ soft furnishings. Built upon an Al-Ko chassis and boasting an Al-Ko AKS 3004 stabiliser it is as reliable as they come, while a wheel lock comes as an optional extra.
Heating comes in the form of a Truma Ultrastore water heater and a floor-mounted Whale space heater, and the Grade III-insulated Bailey’s patented Alu-Tech body shell comes equipped with a six-year integrity guarantee for peace of mind.
