Abbey Vogue GTS 215 – 2002 – £4995

Abbey Vogue caravans: popular for their affordability and high quality kit list

Despite going into administration in 2009, Abbey caravans are still a familiar site on caravan parks and dealer forecourts up and down the country.

Ranging from the two berth 460 up to the six berth 650 and including three twin axle models, the Abbey Vogue range was the brands entry level offering and it continues to be popular with second hand buyers. With nine models in the final line-up there’s plenty of choice.

The final series in the Abbey Vogue range was built using a single rear panel and high gloss, thick gauge aluminium side walls also constructed out of a single panel. Abbey was so confident of the new design it offered a six year integrity guarantee against body leaks and delamination, along with water ingress through any permanently sealed joints in the initial sale. Owners of the later model year versions are reaping the benefit of this construction method.

Improved bathrooms

Washrooms in Vogue 2 models featured thick, domestic style doors, lined showers and a practical wheeled waste tank. The 460 and 520 models have spacious walk in showers and a separate drying/ dressing area. Water is supplied by a high capacity in-board bump and dispensed through chrome finish brass taps.

The 6 berth Abbey Vogue 540, features unusual fixed transverse rear bunks which running along the width of the caravan, and the front bunks can be set up as two singles or one comfortable double.

Each model is set up with dual fuel blown air central heating system with ducts into the living space and washroom, as well as the areas under the seat and bed bases. Classified Grade 2 for thermal insulation and heating, the range has since been superseded by newer models in terms of thermal efficiency.

Lighting is provided by halogen ceiling lights in the washroom and living space and, along with adjustable downlighters in the lounge and sleeping areas.
