Nonetheless, many caravanners find themselves drawn to the continent when searching for their next tourer.
With venerable makes such Hobby, Adria and Dethleffs, there are plenty of reasons to looking into the option of buying a European caravan.
Some are attracted to the variety of layouts on offer, while some ranges feature striking modern designs that are very different to the UK norm.
With this in mind, Towergate Insurance has recently published a new guide to buying a caravan from Europe.
The insurance provider explains that since most European manufacturers only build vans with a door on the right hand side, this can cause problems on British caravan sites.
