A family from Ramsey, Essex, has been left devastated as thieves towed away their caravan from storage.

The Abbey Aventura 330 six-berth tourer had been kept on farmland off Wrabness Road near to the village where criminals struck stealing the family’s pride and joy, the Harwich and Manningtree Standard reports.

Mother Fay Topple told the news provider that the caravan was regularly used for holidays and issued a warning to other owners to ensure that they keep their own mobile home safe and secure between the holiday seasons.

Police are now on search for the criminals responsible and believe that they managed to break into the farm by cutting holes in the fence before towing the tourer across two fields to make their getaway.

A similar incident took place in Hartlepool earlier this month, as the Hartlepool Mail reported a series of raids on the vehicles at Paul’s Travel site in the north-east town.
