Thieves target caravans in Trusthorpe and Mablethorpe

Police warn to be vigilant along the coastline resorts

Thieves have targeted caravans in the coastal resorts of Trusthorpe and Mablethorpe.

Police are warning owners to be extremely vigilant and report any suspicious activity as criminals have been known to break into mobile homes especially during the holiday season, Louth Leader reports.

PC Paul French, from Mablethorpe Police Station, explains that the police have launched an awareness campaign for the autumn months which encourages owners to remove all valuable items if they do not plan on staying in their mobile homes over this period.

“Although we are working closely with everyone in the caravan industry to improve security, incidents will inevitably still occur and we are encouraging anyone who see suspicious activity, people or vehicles to contact police straight away,” PC French told the news provider.

Both Mablethorpe and Trusthorpe are big favourites with campers and caravanners due to their close proximity to the North Sea. The latter even boasts an area known as Miami Beach complete with a Sunset Strip.
