The 2018 Manchester Caravan and Motorhome Show

Who's ready for this weeks Caravan & Motorhome Show?

By William Coleman
This year’s Manchester Caravan and Motorhome is just a couple of days away and we are super excited about it. The crowd is expected to be well over 36,000 across the 3 day leisure industry event. The show will take place at EventCity from the 18th to the 21st of January.
The event is set to topple every show that has come before it. With this one being bigger than any other there will be tons of exciting things for families. With over 200 exhibitors displaying at the show providing visitors with the biggest range of caravans, motorhomes and holiday homes anywhere in the north of England.
Another fantastic addition to this years show is the teaming up of baby toy manufacturer “Peg Prego”, who are going to build three mini caravans based on the Swift Basecamp Model. They are never too young to start their own mini touring adventures.
These special little tourers will be hitches up to a 2 seater electric off road vehicle ready to be towed away by the toddlers. Children aged from 3-10 years old will be able to take a cruise and see how their manoeuvring skills fair against a specially built track. Once they have completed their track session they will be certified mini tow experts as they are handed their very own ‘My First Towing Experience’ certificates.
Adults are not excluded from the fun. If you fancy learning, or just want a refresh, the Caravan and Camping Club are offering free 15 minute sessions on towing. I took advantage of this great little freebie in October and it was great. It was so good that I am actually in the process of booking a towing course with The Club which will take place in the next few weeks,, so stay tuned for more content on that.
On top of all the family fun there will also be celebrity caravan enthusiasts in attendance over the weekend days of the show. BBC2 ‘Great Escapes’ presenter Monty Halls, former Emmerdale Star Andrew Dickens and Wildlife TV presenter Steve Leonard will all be there.
Another touring enthusiast, and good friend of CaravanTimes, Matt Allwright will be attending the show with The Caravan And Motorhome Club to share some travelling memorie and tips to visitors. Be sure to attend this as he knows how to hold a crowd and is very funny.
With over 200 exhibitors at the show you will be spoilt for choice, especially if you are in the market for a new caravan or motorhome. There are so many to look through and compare that you will certainly find one and fall in love with it.
Caravan industry leaders Swift will be there, showing off their range of American Airstream caravans and their latest luxury models.
Rob Debenham, Show Manager, says: “We’re hoping to build on the success of last year which saw 36,102 visitors attend over four days and we are really excited about the 2018 show. With some exciting new attractions in store for our guests I’m confident we’re on track to deliver our best show yet.”
Tickets to the show also include free entry into the co-located Destinations: The Holiday & Travel Show with live cookery demonstrations on the Food & Travel stage.
Advance tickets cost £8.50, or you can get one on the door for £9.95.
