Swift has released full details of its all-new sporty, compact Rio motorhome range, including a range of exciting features and two layouts to choose from.

The latest motorhome to join Swift’s stable, the Rio, is certainly compact and, at 6.4m in length and 2.26m wide, you’d be hard pressed to imagine how the Rio can fit in as many features as it does.

The Rio comes in two models for 2015 – the 320 two-berth model and the four-berth 340, both weighing in at 3,500kg MTPLM. Both models come with a spacious rear parallel lounge, which provides plenty of space for anything you may wish to take on board. Although the latter model has a shorter parallel lounge, it makes room for a travelling dinette – ideal for families.

Another feature on both the 320 and 340 is the Aralie Sen woodgrain and a Loxley soft furnishing scheme. This contemporary style looks great when contrasted between the chocolate base cushions and the grey/silver backrests.

The seats in the Ducato cab on top of the Fiat low line chassis have an integrated headrest, a wider backrest, better side support and even better seat comfort and a radio comes with a Bluetooth connection as well as a mirror mounted aerial for improved reception. There is also a USB port designed for mobile devices. Other features within the cab include a gearshift indicator, which shows you when to change gear – providing for a more economical journey.

LED lighting is throughout, with dimmable spotlights and over-locker lights in the rear lounge improving safety too, and Swift has even thrown in some low-level night-lights and swan neck reading lights for good measure.

The bathroom has everything you could possible need in addition to mini LED downlights. Truma Combi 4 heating and a winter pack comes as standard, including fresh and waste water heaters, fridge vent and drain insulation so that pretty much means the Rio’s washrooms are perfect all year round.

All models come with a TRACKER Retrieve Thatcham already approved tracking system and, of course, SMART construction in line with all of Swift’s motorhome and caravan ranges. In addition, the new timberless body frame uses PURe, which is a strong polyurethane waterproof material, preventing moisture from coming into the hardwood ply wallboard.

Both Rio models come with a fully-opening rear tailgate which adds an essence of further space and light.

Aside from all the above, the Rio 340s most redeeming feature is the electronically operated drop down bed at the rear. Providing three positions and offering the exclusive Duvalay Duvalite mattress – with memory foam technology. The highest position of the bed can be used for when more storage is required, while the mid position allows people to sleep underneath and, finally, the low-level position is for easy access sleeping – transforming your motorhome from an easy living area, to the perfect bedroom, all at the press of a button.

On the road prices start at £44,400 for the 320 and £45,400 for the 340 model.
