Salop Leisure to expand business operations and create more jobs for the new year

The chairman of award-winning Shrewsbury-based caravan dealership Salop Leisure, has announced plans to expand for 2016, which will feature investment in new developments and job creation to mark the business’s 50th anniversary.

Following on from the best trading year for a decade, Tony Bywater has expressed optimism for what the new year has in store for both Salop Leisure, saying: “We have a number of projects in the pipeline that will hopefully come to fruition during 2016, including the opening of the brand new Castle View Holiday Home Park in Harlech, which has involved investment of £2.5 million.”

That’s not all though, and Bywater has also hinted at a multi-million pound investment which will see the creation of new jobs, to celebrate the milestone of the company’s 50th year in business.

Bywater went on to say that it was too early to divulge details of the new developments, but an announcement would be made soon.

Reflecting on another successful year for Salop Leisure, went on to highlight further expansion of Salop Leisure’s busy workshops to include two new service bays to cope with demand.

He continued: “2015 has been the most successful year of the last decade, as sales of touring caravans, motorhomes and caravan holiday homes have been exceptional, which is quite amazing considering the poor summer that we experienced.”

“Although the weather does influence holidays,” Bywater went on, “People are now using caravans much more as they are designed to cope with all sorts of weather conditions and they give many families the opportunity to take a break whenever they wish.

“The return of consumer confidence and lower price of fuel, which reduced travelling costs, definitely played a big part in the success of the business during 2015.”

Bywater, who also celebrates 50 years in the caravan business for 2016, also predicted that 2016 will be another busy year for the caravan industry as the threat of terrorism in different parts of the world persuades people to take their holidays closer to home.

“I think touring caravans, motorhomes, static caravan holiday homes and camping are going to be even more popular next year because they provide people with good, value for money holidays and the freedom to spend time with their family in relaxing locations,” he said.

Congratulations to Salop Leisure – we for one can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2016.
