Huttoft Car Terrace has become the centre of a row after caravan and motorhome owners have been staying overnight, despite the ‘no parking overnight’ signs.
The volunteers, Shaun Gandy and Peter Marshall, of Coastal Lookout Huttoft and Seal Rescue respectively, monitor public safety at the site and nearby residents and work to keep watch over the area and notify the emergency services should they be required but they are not affiliated with official organisations, the Louth Leader reports.
However, their role could be under threat as Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) received a number of complaints from residents living nearby that were annoyed by persistent overnight parking despite prohibiting the activity.
Matthew Davey, LCC’s environment and community projects officer, told the news provider: “We receive lots of complaints from residents and visitors about caravan and motorhome owners who camp at the car park on a long-term basis, despite the ‘no parking overnight’ signs.”
Huttoft Car Terrace is a popular spot for tourists visiting the Lincolnshire area and gives magnificent views all year round.
