North Northumberland’s South Meadows Caravan Park has scooped a prestigious accolade at a national awards scheme.

The Belford-based campsite was bestowed with the title of AA Best Campsite for the North East 2014 by the breakdown recovery company.

It was a huge coup for both the campsite and region as it managed to beat off strong competition from a number of sites across the north-east area.

As part of the accolade, the site will also be included in the AA’s Caravan and Camping Guide 2014 which is now entering 46th year of ranking some of the best campsites across the UK and Ireland.

South Meadows Caravan Park is an ideal location for people wanting to explore the beauteous countryside Northumberland has to offer.

Describing South Meadows, the AA states: “Set in 40 acres of beautiful Northumbrian countryside, a short drive from unspoilt beaches and magnificent Bamburgh Castle, South Meadows has been transformed in recent years and is now a top quality touring and holiday park.”
