New guide explains UK’s most popular layout choices

Modern caravans come in many different shapes and sizes

by Chris Jefferies
Choosing your first caravan can be very confusing, particularly with so many layout choices and new terms to get your head around before parting with your hard-earned cash.
With this in mind, Towergate Insurance has recently released a new online guide explaining some of the most popular layouts in the UK, and the advantages and disadvantages of each one.
The insurance provider starts with two-berths and examines the different kitchen and washroom options available on the British-built market, giving some examples of the most popular models.
Four-berths are also looked at in detail, with the pros and cons of fixed beds and bunk beds discussed in some depth.
And for those who are less familiar with terms like ‘nearside’ and ‘dinette’, a handy glossary of terms is included to help you decide exactly what you’re looking for before visiting your local dealer.
