Property developer snaps up Lido Leisure Park in deal said to be worth millions

One of the largest caravan parks in North Yorkshire has been purchased by a property developer in a deal said to be worth millions.

Frank Maguire, a successful entrepreneur who already operates a number of caravan parks in the North of England, has purchased Lido Leisure Park in North Yorkshire and looks set to convert it into a five star luxury holiday park with leisure facilities.

Set in a stunning riverside location within the Nidd Gorge on the outskirts of Knaresorough, Lido Leisure Park, which has an 11 month season including Christmas and New Year, is surrounded by 40 acres of woodland inhabited by deer, badger and red kite amongst other species and the surrounding habitat makes for a popular choice for caravanners and motorhomers alike.

William Reynolds, director at Edwards and Partners who were responsible for the sale, said: “There was a great deal of interest in this site thanks to its excellent position and high commercial value. As specialists in this field we were ideally placed to identify parties for whom the business would be of interest and secure the deal, which was achieved by way of a sale of shares in a company.”

Have you stayed at Lido Leisure Park? If so, what do you think of the acquisition? Will Lido Leisure Park change for the better or worse?
