Police in Kent are advising caravanners in the region to ensure their vehicle is sufficiently secured over the autumn and winter months.
The traditional holiday season is coming to a close and tomorrow (30 August) sees two free security marking events coming to Sheppey, Kent News reports.
Officers will be on hand in both Leysdown and Eastchurch throughout the day to provide crime prevention advice to caravanners.
As the weather starts to turn chilly many people will be leaving their caravans in storage and returning back to their permanent residence and police explain that it is important that they ensure their caravan is sufficiently protected for the months ahead.
Speaking to the news provider, Sergeant Darren Walshaw said: “I would encourage people to remove all valuable items from their caravan at the end of the season and to leave curtains and any drawers and cupboards open to show thieves that the caravan is empty.”
