Two caravan parks in Kent have taken action and moved pitch sites after a landslide, which happened at Bell Farm Lane, caused a section of cliff to collapse.

The news comes after a recent bout of bad weather, which has caused serious cliff erosion.

Ashcroft Coast Holiday Park and Warden Springs Caravan Park, both run by Park Resorts, have had to relocate a number of its pitches.

Cliff erosion is becoming more of an issue on the Isle of Sheppey, a popular destination for caravanners, which has seen more than one cliff collapse within the past year.

A spokesman for Park Resorts has said: “The natural cliff erosion has caused us to move back a few of our caravans and change the location of the perimeter fence in line.”

“We have long been aware that Ashcroft Coast Holiday Park is located in an area where cliff erosion is natural.”

Those who are wishing to visit any sites have been warned by coastguard officer Ian Goodwin, who said: “There has been quite a large movement of the cliff, which from the coastguard’s perspective simply means keep away.”
