Buying a second-hand caravan is the most economical way to get into caravanning in the first place, with plenty of bargains on the market, but this process does come with certain risks.
Unlike a new caravan, you can’t be certain of how well it’s been treated, so you need to make a few key checks before committing to buy.
With this in mind, Towergate Insurance has recently published a handy checklist of all the important things you need to look out for when buying a used caravan.
The insurance provider suggests asking for evidence of regular servicing and proof of ownership, to make sure that it hasn’t been stolen.
There are also plenty of top tips for checking the physical state of the running gear and windows, which can flag up any potential problems.
