An elderly couple have spoken of their shock after their motorhome was stolen at a carwash in West Yorkshire.

Joseph and Pauline Maleney stopped at a car wash in Morley to spruce up their motorhome en route to their holiday in Blackpool and were left empty handed after a man got into their vehicle and drove away with it.

After packing up their Peugeot Boxer Executive motorhome with all of their belongings, the couple decided to stop at the car wash on Bruntcliffe Road and popped to a shop over the road while it was being washed.

When they returned to the carwash they saw their motorhome on the road but assumed that one of the staff was moving the motorhome.

Joseph said: “I thought it was just one of the lads pulling it around and waved over to acknowledge them. But it just kept on driving.”

And as if that wasn’t cruel enough, the couple’s dog was pushed out of the vehicle.

A few people shouted over to the couple to let them know it had been stolen but it was unfortunately too late, as the thief had already staring making his getaway.

The man that drove the van away has been described as white, in his 40s and was wearing a high visibility jacket.
