This year’s Caravan & Motorhome Show came to an end at Manchester’s EventCity on Sunday (22nd January) and since then has widely been celebrated as a massive success.

Following its move to the new venue, visitor numbers at the show swelled by a huge 42 per cent and manufacturers have reported record sales.

Some 31,489 visitors passed through the front doors of EventCity over the four days the show ran for, making it the biggest ever caravan show held in the North West.

It proved such a success that 70 per cent of the exhibitors present have already guaranteed their participation next year.

The show was organised by Clarion Events with support from The Camping and Caravanning Club and The Caravan Club, and in its first day alone 8,000 people attended, more than double the 3,000 who visited on the opening day last year.

Following Swift Group’s announcement that they broke previous sales records with orders topping the £4 million mark, Brian Laing, the managing director of Glossop Caravans revealed a similar success story at his dealership’s stand.

“[It was] the best I’ve seen in more than 30 years of exhibiting at events,” he said.

“We had the best day of sales we’ve ever had for Glossop Caravans. Attendance and sales have been terrific.”

Rob Quine, managing director of Elddis Caravans, confirmed that the new location has contributed to this year’s success.

“This is clearly a positive step forward from the show’s previous location and we’re looking forward to seeing this show evolve,” he commented.
