The Lillies Caravan Park in Barnham could be demolished to make way for almost 40 homes, according to a new planning application which has been submitted to Arun District Council.
The move has been made by Banner Homes Central to carry out the construction at Yapton Road, reports the Littlehampton Gazette.
It will involve tearing down six holiday lodges and a toilet block, along with the removal of 30 touring caravans, motorhomes and camping pitches.
These will be replaced with 38 homes, along with garages and other car parking spaces. A new access road will also be built for the neighbourhood to use.
In a move away from the development plan, a change of use has also been submitted, from current C1 (hotels) to C3 (dwelling houses).
It remains to be seen what the reaction will be to the planning application, which would see a popular area of green land being replaced by housing.
