Bailey of Bristol has given an insight into the testing process after once again contributing the caravans for the 2013 Caravan Club Towcar of the Year Competition.

Taking place at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire, a large number of vehicles from leading manufacturers were put through their paces by a panel of judges over a tough four-day period.

Bailey of Bristol was invited to supply the caravans used in the event which is used to assess the performance of tow vehicles, while also providing a thorough review of the participating caravans’ durability and stability.

All of this year’s ten models were Alu-Tech vehicles, including models from the Orion, Olympus, Pegasus GT65 and Unicorn ranges.

Bailey marketing director Simon Howard, who worked during testing week as part the technical support team, said: “Towcar of the Year always represents a very stern test for our caravans.

“Seeing how well they perform being towed by a wide variety of tow vehicles on a very demanding circuit is always reassuring.”

Results of the competition will be announced at the annual awards lunch held at the Royal Automobile Club, London on 25 September.
