Bailey Caravans announces £90m turnover for 2012

2012 was a great year for the Bristol based company

While the UK is still in the throes of economic uncertainty, it would appear that things are going from strength-to-strength for Bailey of Bristol.

The caravan manufacturer celebrates its 65th anniversary this year and despite the firm itself being one of the oldest tourer manufacturers around, the prospects for the year ahead are looking positively vibrant.

Figures released by the tourer firm show that Bailey enjoyed an impressive turnover of £91 million over the 2012 calendar year.

This represents an increase of 15 per cent on the previous year’s figures and further establishes the company’s status as a major market player.

Careful planning has also been important, with Bailey of Bristol moving to better balance production and demand, meaning retail stocks fell 25 per cent on the previous 12 months.

And it would appear that managing director Nick Howard is confident of improving on these numbers over the next year.

“Whilst the prevailing economic climate remains challenging, we believe that with a broader product offering, featuring our patented Alu-Tech design technology, that we are in a strong position looking forward,” he said.

First founded in 1948, the company received a visit from the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh earlier this year, following the success of its patented Alu-Tech system.
