Gramping: Eurocamp urges caravan lovers to take the grandparents

Extended-family holidays are on the rise, with grandparents far more likely to come along on an outdoors holiday than they were two years ago, Eurocamp has claimed.

In its latest survey, the European holiday expert found that 75 per cent of families with young children are planning on taking grandma and grandpa with them on their major annual trip away.

Furthermore, Eurocamp bookings for extended families camping or caravanning have risen by 325 per cent over the past two years.

Chris Hilton, head of brand at Eurocamp, said that this new phenomenon was partly down to a desire to spread childcare duties throughout the family.

“Families have always used holidays as a chance to become closer, by spending quality time together away from the stresses and strains of normal life. Grandparents are clearly considered an important part of that unit,” he added.

Eurocamp offers a range of caravan and motorhome holidays throughout the UK, Europe and the US.
