The Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf, Germany, is proving a huge success as thousands of visitors have passed through its doors.

It is currently only halfway through yet organisers stated that 108,000 people have already visited and this is expected to rise to 165,000 by the time it finishes on Sunday (8 September).

Officials explained that with the swell in footfall they hope it will provide new impetus for the caravanning sector in Germany, Pro Mobil reports.

Hans-Karl Sternberg, managing director of the Caravanning Industry Association, explained that the exhibitors have been “very satisfied” with the trade fair so far and that there has been an uptake of buyer interest.

He added that the new models are becoming a major hit for caravanners.

Dusseldorf is becoming an increasingly popular city for tourists with flights from the UK leaving on a daily basis and with the weekend approaching organiser of the Caravan Salon are expecting more visitors.
