Swift Group has won Hull’s Youth Enterprise award for its efforts in inspiring youngsters with the entrepreneurial bug and encouraging them to develop key skills

The award recognises the investment that Swift Group has made in partnerships with local schools and colleges to support young people in developing core skills.

The award was also given to Swift as it operates one of the largest manufacturing apprenticeship schemes in the region and is a key player in attempting to increase the number of women in engineering.

Swift Group also provides alternative routes of employment for young people including an engineering scholarship programme.

The fully funded programme is open to students with A levels or equivalent qualifications and enables them to study part-time for an engineering degree whilst working at Swift.

“I would like to congratulate all the winners” said a delighted Amy Archer, deputy managing director. “Supporting our local community and in particular helping young people succeed in the world of work, is a key commitment of Swift Group.

“Many of the Swift team have worked extremely hard with a number of local education providers and it is great to see that effort rewarded, well done everyone.”
