The space-age domes of the Eden project in Cornwall, the mystical stone circle of Stonehenge and the sweeping Jurassic Coast make the South West a destination of great diversity and interest.
The Southern-most counties Somerset, Devon and Cornwall have minimal motorway infrastructure which means there remains a proliferation of sleepy hamlets and quaint towns.
The stunning coastline and sandy beaches are well worth the drive. Over 25 designated blue flag beaches, including the UK's surfing Mecca Newquay and old smugglers coves are dotted throughout Devon and Cornwall.
Dorset is the home county of 19th century novelist Thomas Harding and the setting for many of his novels. Western Dorset sees the beginning of the Jurassic Coast where many of Britain's major fossils have been discovered.
Two of Britain's major National Parks are contained within the region. Dartmoor and Exmoor sit alongside the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire and provide a host of outdoor activities for you to get stuck into.
The South West is serviced by three motorways. The M5 runs down to Exeter from the Midlands, the M3 connects London to Southampton and the M4 corridor provides direct links from the Southwest to London.
Here we have a selection of well equipped caravan parks across the region.
