Lunar Clubman SI

Wednesday, 23, Nov 2011 10:42

The final model in the Lunar Clubman range, the SI is the same size and price as the Clubman SE, but a different layout affords a transverse island double to the rear of the single axle tourer. The aluminium framed bed provides a great night's sleep in this luxurious four-berth caravan. At the front, the fully-sprung seating area converts via roll-out slats to create another double bed, although it can just as easily remain as two singles. The end washroom is fully-equipped with a domestic shower unit, complete with an 'Eco Camel' shower head, an electric-flushing Thetford C250 toilet and a washbasin. Meanwhile, the central offside kitchen area is also well-equipped, boasting a Sanyo microwave, a four-ring hob which features an electric hotplate, a large oven with a built-in grill, and a fridge/freezer.

Lunar's Clubman range has a big focus on luxury, and the SI offers just that. The all-new 'Naomi' upholstery and thick pile carpet give the caravan a feel of class, while the 'Chestnut' storage and furniture is complemented by the cool 'Crystal' worktops. Nice touches throughout, such as on the stylish taps and door handles add to the top-of-the-range effect in this light and spacious caravan.

Underneath, the SI is just as practical as it is luxurious. Carrying an Alde Hydronic Wet Central Heating System and a water system that is pressurised and connects via the 'Super Pitch' point, it is well designed with the offside toilet meaning it never need by emptied through the awning. An LED lighting system is energy-efficient and the entertainment facilities include multiple digital television points with a multi-directional aerial, alongside a two-speaker stereo system.

Self levelling technology: Why is there not more of it out there?

Self levelling systems are popular with its users but there are only a few caravan and motorhome models that offer the technology

The caravan and motorhome industry are amazingly early adopters of technology, and modern leisure vehicle specifications are incredibly high. Some leisure vehicles have more specification than the average home, boasting huge fridges, solar panels, alarm systems, satellite dishes, LED touch lighting, even underfloor wet central heating in some models.
