A company which boasts some of the highest specifications for touring caravans with an emphasis on luxury
Part of the Explorer Group since 1998, Buccaneer is the sister brand of Elddis and has been available on the caravan market for over 40 years. The prestigious brand is known for quality, style and comfort and offers some of the highest spec tourers on the market.
The line-up historically consisted of five well conceived spacious layouts. Three single axle models included the 2 berth Elan, and the 4 berth Caribbean and Argosy. A further two double axle, four berth models were available in the Caravel and the Schooner. The Caribbean, Elan and Argosy layouts were dropped from the portfolio in 2011 to be replaced by the Corsair and the reintroduction of the Buccaneer Clipper.
Self-catering made simple
The Buccaneer caravan range features anthracite appliances throughout, including an oven, hob and fridge and all models boast Solar and satellite TV connectivity, optional Freeview digital tuner and i-Pod/MP3 compatibility.
Interior design features include spot lighting, LED highlighting, classic wall and new wood inset feature lights, whilst road handling is made easy with the aid of a nose weight indicator system, and a BPW's acclaimed Swing V-Tec chassis and Winterhoff WS 3000 stabiliser which comes as standard.
2011 season additions
In the summer of 2010, two new models were added to the Buccaneer line-up. Borrowed from the Elddis Odyssey 540 / Crusader Tornado layout, the Corsair is a single axle model with the popular rear bathroom and nearside fixed bed configuration that has proved popular among Elddis customers.
2011 also saw the reintroduction of the Clipper - based on the Elddis Crusader Supercyclone layout and comes fully equipped the latest technology. A telemetric device with the Alde heating system allows it to be operated remotely via text message, so the 'van can be warmed in advance of arriving back from a day out.
Buccaneer Caravans offer a satisfying blend of the newest technology and time honoured craftsmanship. Produced in limited numbers, each caravan is craftsman-built in Consett, County Durham to ensure exclusivity. Their classically styled exteriors are branded with discreet graphics whilst the well thought out interiors offer luxury and comfort.
In August 2012, the Buccaneer range expanded to include the four-berth Fluyt layout, which features fixed twin single beds and a full-width rear washroom.
What's more, it was announced that all Buccaneer caravans from 2013 onwards are to be built using the Elddis Solid Construction technique, to ensure superior levels of strength, lightness and dryness.
