New BBC sitcom is set in a caravan park

A brand new comedy by BBC Scotland this autumn will be based around the theme of caravan holidays.

Friday, 28, Aug 2009 01:47

There's a belief that you haven't really arrived on your caravan holiday until you've sat down and brewed your first cuppa. While the following teapots may be a little fragile for camping, they're the perfect gift for the caravan lover.

The Teapottery call themselves 'the home of the eccentric teapot' and they have a point. Since 1978 they've made teapots in many shapes (cocktail bars, pianos, packing cases and toasters) while their designs have been found lurking in tbe background of Absolutely Fabolous and The Golden Girls. And amongst this range are lurking two superb caravan-shaped offerings.

'Tour the country in a teapot' suggests the makers of the Touring Caravan Teapot. Part of the Teapottery's Limited Edition Collection it has been restricted to 2000 pieces. With billowing teacloth curtains and striped window awnings this is an unashamedly retro piece. Priced at £59.99 more on this piece can be found at www.theteapottery.co.uk.

Equally as kitsch and fun is the Caravan Teapot which can be found in the main collection. Sporting a chrome-looking towbar and wheel arches this looks ready to tow. 'One for the road' quips the Teapottery: it can be yours for £37.95 by visitng their website.
