Bailey Unicorn Series II

The Unicorn II is the 2013 model year upgrade of this luxury caravan range

The 2013 Bailey Unicorn range has been hotly anticipated and doesn’t fail to deliver, exciting new features on all models. Moulded in the same innovative Alu-Tech bodyshell that made the original series so popular, the new range sees the upper body panels cloaked in a single sheet impact-resistant GRP outer skin for added durability alongside a one-piece integrated front and rear bumpers.

Spanish influence

The new range consists of five layouts named after Spanish cities. These vary from the Bailey Unicorn II Seville, a two-berth end washroom model, to the four-berth Bailey Unicorn II Barcelona, which offers a twin-axle fixed-double bed layout. As a result there is something to accommodate all prospective caravan owners’ needs.

New features include exclusive Michelin branded tyres, which are fitted to 14″ alloy wheels, a move which will help reduce weight across the range. The exterior of the vehicle has also been modified with the relocation of the gas locker to a central position to enhance stability and reduce the noseweight. The locker will accommodate all gas bottle types according to owner preference.

What’s inside?

Inside the caravans, the new features continue. There are up to six new 230-volt sockets and a centrally located digital control panel that will help owners keep all their gadgets charged.

A kitchen upgrade has been applied to all models with the introduction of the Thetford Caprice combination oven and grill and new dual fuel hob which also features an electric hotplate.

To let in more light to the interior the whole range features the new Bailey ‘Walnut’ finish scenic skylight surround with integral ceiling lighting. On the theme of lighting, there are also new 12v ambient and task light fittings

The kitchen and bathroom both sport a new granite finish laminate and the integral Alde central heating system coming as standard in all models. There are new design fixed double beds made from aluminium frames with gas-strut assisted opening mechanism for ease of use.

In terms of design owners have a choice, as the new range can be furnished with either the ‘Mozart’ or ‘Rossini’ premium quality range of soft furnishings with coordinating curtains, arm rests and scatter cushions, allowing the owner to achieve a style that is perfect for them.

Safe and sound

Of course with such high specifications, this is a range that needs to be kept safe. In order to achieve this, all models are fitted with the AL-KO ATC Trailer Control system, a Tracker Monitor stolen vehicle recovery system and a high-security door lock as standard to help combat theft. In addition, the Michelin branded tyres also come with alloy wheel security locking nuts to prevent theft.

All-year-round comfort is ensured by the Alde central heating system, which is backed up by Grade III thermal insulation.

Finally, for added peace of mind, each Unicorn Series II model comes with a six-year transferrable bodyshell integrity guarantee, and a three-year manufacturer’s warranty.
