Bailey Caravans launched their groundbreaking Bailey Pegasus range in 2009, designed to be weatherproof, durable, aerodynamic and stylish.
The seven model range boasts contemporary styling and is engineered to be light and spacious. A large 35cm wide front window brings in lots of light, and a flexible, modular lounge allows positioning of optional chest of drawer units. The flat panel roof running the length of the caravan gives a spacious 6'5" of headroom.
Bailey has combated the threat of water ingress with the development of their pioneering Alu-Tech body shell construction. The technology incorporates an interlocking aluminium external framework that clamps body panels together to create an enforced shell much stronger than traditional caravan construction methods. Bailey almost halved the number of panels from nine to five, and reduced the number of fixing points and joints by 90% further eliminating possible entry points for water ingress.
Bailey are so confident of their new Alu-Tech models, they offer an industry-leading ten-year body shell integrity guarantee.
Thicker body panels (37mm), superior grade polystyrene and extra insulation paved the way for the Pegasus to become the UK's first caravan to be awarded Grade 3 classification of Thermal Insulation EN 1645-1.
Enhanced security measures include a TRACKER branded Monitor Stolen Vehicle Recovery System and alarm, an AL-KO Secure portable wheel lock and anti-snaking device which all come as standard. Furthermore, an imbedded security chip is concealed within the caravan construction. These multiple levels of security are rewarded with low insurance costs from many industry specific insurers.
There are seven single axle models starting with the smallest 2 berth Pegasus 462, leading up to 4 berth Pegasus 514, 524, 534, 624 models and the top of the range 6 berth Pegasus 546.
Bailey introduced a second 6 berth model at the end of 2009. The twin-axle, family friendly 646 model incorporates their signature triple bunk end bedroom configuration based on the popular Bailey Senator Carolina layout.
The Pegasus is aimed at the higher end of the market and as such comes fully loaded with a dedicated gas locker, on board water container and external bbq point all included as standard. Some of the top new features include slide out foot rests which double up as sturdy, easy access bed bases and twin wet lockers with built in drainage.
The Pegasus marque sits alongside the Olympus and soon to be launched Bailey Unicorn in the Alu-Tech series, as well as the classic Bailey Ranger, Ranger GT, Pageant and Senator ranges.
Recommended retail prices start at £15,550 for the 2 berth 462 up to £18,265 for the 646.
The Pegasus range has since been revamped in March 2011 with the launch of the Bailey Pegasus Series II.
